A common training matrix has been developed, which aligns with NZQA unit standards and outlines how often training needs to be refreshed. This will simplify the demands on companies to supply appropriately trained and competent personnel.
The go-live date for the training matrix is January 1, 2018. From this date, all manufacturing sites aligned with BeSafe Taranaki require the training within the matrix to be carried out prior to undertaking work at those sites.
As we expect many employees and contractors may be affected by the proposed matrix a six-month lead time has been factored in to prepare for the changes.
